LAP SWIM
Lap Swim is a cool and fun way to exercise this summer.  A minimum of 7 paid participants per month is required.  Ages 16 & older are welcome to participate.

FEE: $30 per session OR $3 per visit (each session is 4 weeks)

NIGHT SWIM
Don't get a chance to swim during the day?  Monday & Thursday nights are just for adults and families!  Ages 17 and younger must attend with an adult family member.
WHEN: MONDAY & THURSDAY EVENINGS
JUNE 7-AUGUST 12
TIME: 7:30-8:45 P.M.
FEE: $1 PER PERSON


MONTHLY SWIM PASSES

Individual and family swim passes to the pool may be purchased at the Natatorium.  Passes are good only for the month in which they are purchased and may be used for Open Swim admission only.  Family passes cover up to 5 immediate family members.

Parent & Child- $20 per session
Preschool, Levels 1-3- $30 per session


All ages are invited to learn to swim or improve their skills by participating in one of our swim lesson classes.  Classes follow the Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program and include Preschool, Parent & Me, and Levels 1-3.  Each session is 2 weeks long with classes taking place Monday through Thursday.

PARENT & CHILD (Ages 6 months-3 years) Classes are held in the small pool.  An adult will assist the child in getting familiar with the water-this class is more for water acclimation-not for instruction

PRESCHOOL (Ages 3-5 years) Classes are held in the small pool and are for children ready to be in the water without a parent.  Children will learn basic water safety and skills.

RED CROSS LEARN-TO-SWIM PROGRAM (Ages 5 & older)
LEVEL 1-INTRODUCTION TO WATER SKILLS
Purpose: Helps students feel comfortable in the water.  For beginners who have little or no aquatic experience.  Skills include: water entry and exit; submerge mouth, nose and eyes; exhale underwater; use of life jackets; float on front and back; explore arm and hand movements; explore swimming on front and back

LEVEL 2-FUNDAMENTAL AQUATIC SKILLS
Purpose: Gives students success with fundamental skills.  For beginners who feel comfortable in the water.  Students must have successfully completed Level 1 in order to register.  Skills include: exit water using ladder or side; float on front and back; water entry from side of pool; move in water while wearing life jacket; tread water; explore swimming on side; open eyes underwater; perform rhythmic breathing; glide on front and back; roll over from front to back, back to front; and swim using combined strokes.

LEVEL 3-STROKE DEVELOPMENT
Purpose: Builds on the skills in Level 2 through additional guided practice.  For swimmers who want to improve strokes and endurance.  Students must have successfully completed Levels 1 and 2.  Skills include: jump into deep water from the side; dive from sitting or kneeling position; submerge fully to retrieve object; bob with head fully submerged; perform rotary breathing; survival float; swim front crawl; swim back crawl; perform butterfly kick and body motion; perform HELP and huddle positions; perform reaching assists; and change from vertical to horizontal position on front and back.

LEVEL 4-STROKE IMPROVEMENT
Purpose: Develops confidence in the skills learned and improves other aquatic skills.  Further improves strokes and endurance.  Skills include: diving; swim underwater; coordinate butterfly; swim breaststroke; elementary backstroke; swim on side using scissors kick; care for conscious choking victim; tread water; and use safe diving rules.

OPEN SWIM
The William M. Thomas Aquatic Center at the Walter Glenn Natatorium will be open for regular summer hours June 7 through August 13.  All ages are welcome to stop by and swim and to enjoy the slide, spray park and other amenities that have been added to the updated and renovated facility.  Children ages 6 and younger must be accompanied by an adult during open swim sessions.  For more information, contact the Natatorium at 765-4046 or the District Office at 763-4246.

TIME: 1:30-5:00 p.m.
FEE: $2 per person, per day

SATURDAY SWIM
Open Swim will be held at the Natatorium for a few hours on Saturdays all summer.  Children ages 6 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
WHEN: Saturdays, May 29-August 28
TIME: 11:00am-2:00pm
FEE: $2 per person, per day

JR. HIGH NIGHT
CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF PARTICIPATION

FAMILY FUN FRIDAYS
Cool down with a dip in the pool and do-it-yourself ice cream sundaes!  Bring the whole crew down to the Natatorium for these special sessions just for families.  The fee includes admission and ice cream.  The snack bar will also be open!  Ages 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
WHEN: Friday, July 16
TIME: 6:30-9:00pm
FEE: $3 per person OR $12 per family (max 6 people per family)
